Auditions have been scheduled for the following productions:

- TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, on Thursday, Jan. 5, and Friday, Jan. 6, for the Pioneer Theatre Company production, being directed by Martin Platt.There are roles for adults of all ages. African-American actors are encouraged to audition. There are also roles for two boys and one girl, ages 9-12. (Children who have previously auditioned need not audition again.)

Adult audition times are 2-3 p.m. on Jan. 5 and 3-4 p.m. Jan. 6 for Equity actors and 3-5 p.m. on Jan. 5 and 1-3 p.m. on Jan. 6 for non-Equity performers.

Children's auditions are scheduled for Jan. 5 from 4-5 p.m.

All auditions will be held in Room 217 of Pioneer Memorial Theatre, 300 S. and University. All actors must sign up for an audition time on the call board located outside of Room 201 at PMT.

Rehearsals begin Feb. 23 and performance dates are March 15-April 1 on the Lees Main Stage.

- MACBETH, on Tuesday, Jan. 3, from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Monson Theatre of the Weber State University's Val A. Browning Center for the Performing Arts for the March 7-11 student production of Shakespeare's "Macbeth."

Kyle Lewis is directing the show.

There will be cold readings from the script. Presentations of one-minute Shakespearean monologues are also acceptable.

- 42nd STREET, on Tuesday, Jan. 3, in WSU's Browning Center.

There will be a mandatory dance audition at 3 p.m. followed by vocal auditions at 7 p.m.

Director James Christian notes that not everyone in the cast must be a tap-dancer, but all performers must learn and demonstrate a movement combination, which will be taught during fall quarter in the Dance for Musical Theatre class. Other steps will also be taught at the audition.

There will also be a signup sheet posted in the Browning Center for time slots for the vocal auditions. Be prepared with a vocal piece of no more than 90 seconds, appropriate to the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided. Call backs will be held on Jan. 4.

Performances are Feb. 9-18.

- WEST SIDE STORY, on Jan. 10, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the StageStop Theatre in Collinston, between Tremonton and Logan.

There will be cold readings from the script. Also, be prepared to sing 16 bars of any tune from a Broadway musical. A dance combination will be taught during the audition session.

Soni Barrus is directing the production, scheduled to open Feb. 17 and continue through April 8. Lori Salturn is choreographer.
