Kids come before movies for Susan Sarandon.

The actress has been offered the starring role in a film version of Henry James' "Portrait of a Lady," but the movie is to be shot in Europe, and the Daily News reported Friday she won't accept the part unless she can get time off to spend with her three children, ages 2, 4 and 8."I don't want to miss any of my children's growing up," Sarandon said in New York. "I'm not that hungry for career."

Sarandon wants long weekends to come home during filming.

"We're trying to work something out," she said.

Her children, Sarandon said, "are far more interesting to me than any film project."
