Thomas Henry Anderson, 87, beloved and respected husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, returned to his Heavenly Father after a four month struggle with complications from a stroke and a subsequent heart attack. He passed away peacefully at the Orem Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his devoted wife, Ruby, and his son, Paul, on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 1994.

Thomas Henry Anderson was born February 8, 1907 in West Jordan, Utah to Swan Peter and Maria Nilsson Anderson, both Swedish immigrants to America. The family settled in Midvale where Henry grew up with his brothers and sisters. He attended the Midvale schools and Jordan High School.He married Thelma Jones on Nov. 27, 1929 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They became a devoted couple and the parents of four loving children: Marie, Carol, Connie, and Paul. Thelma passed away on Sept. 26, 1989 in Midvale, Utah.

Throughout his life, Henry used his practical knowledge to accomplish many good and useful things. He made a motorized wheelchair for his father-in-law, Byron Jones. He built his own home. He became a well-known plumbing and electrical contractor in the Midvale and Sandy area. He was known for his integrity, perfection, and sound judgement. He was a great example for his family and friends. He was a member of the LDS Church and served as a High Priest.

Henry met Ruby Gertrude Heard Maupin at the Orem Friendship Center and they were married in the Provo LDS Temple on May 8, 1993. Ruby became his best friend and confidant. Henry's children are grateful to her for her constant and sincere concern and love for their father.

Survivors: wife, Ruby Anderson, Orem; children, Paul "H" and wife, Karen, Orem; Marie and husband, Tony Yamada, New York City, New York; Carol and husband, Douglas LeMon, Lee's Summit, Missouri; Connie and husband, Darrell Solum, Columbia, Missouri; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 1994, at 1:00 p.m. in the Goff Mortuary Chapel, 8090 So. State, Midvale, where friends may call Tuesday one hour prior to services. Friends may also call at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 So. State, Orem, Utah, on Monday December 26, from 6-8 p.m. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
