Leland Lewis Chase, Sr., age 83, passed away December 21, 1994 in Salt Lake City, Utah of natural causes.

He was born September 28, 1911 in Springville, Utah to Asa H. and May Lewis Chase. He married Elise Meredith on Nov. 2, 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.As an active member of the LDS Church, Leland served a couples mission in the Illinois Chicago Mission. He also served as a Salt Lake Temple worker. He worked as a state agent for the New Hampshire Insurance Company. And when he was younger, he was the state fencing champion.

He is survived by his wife; four sons, Craig Beck (Bobbie), Salt Lake City; C. Dean Chase, Ensenada, Mexico; Leland Chase, Jr. (Maureen), Salt Lake City; Robert A. Chase (Leslie Ann), Salt Lake City; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 1994 at 1 p.m. in the Mountain View 2nd Ward (1400 So. 1900 East). Friends may call Monday 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary (255 So. 200 East) on Tuesday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the ward. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
