Jimmy DeGraffenried missed a 3-point shot at the buzzer as Wyoming survived a late charge by Weber State and won 58-56 Friday night.
The Wildcats had two chances in the final four seconds to tie the game, but Ruben Nembhard missed the first end of a one-and-one and DeGraffenried's final attempt just missed.Theo Ratliff scored 15 points, blocked eight shots and pulled down nine rebounds for Wyoming (3-4), while LaDrell Whitehead led all scorers with 18.
Nembhard led the Wildcats (5-4) with 15, despite only scoring one point in the second half.
Weber State led the entire first half and was up 37-34 at intermission.
Blocked shots by Ratliff triggered an 8-0 Wyoming run to start the second half. The Cowboys took their biggest lead of the game at the 7:53 mark, 53-42.
But the Cowboys, who have struggled in close games this season, suddenly stalled in offense.
A Justyn Tebbs bucket, followed by a Lewis Lofton 3-point play pulled Weber State to 54-53 with 4:36 left.
Wyoming managed four more free throws and DeGraffenried drained a 3-pointer to make the score 58-56 with four seconds left.
