Kenneth E. "Blackie" Walters, 75, died December 24, 1994 at his home after a short illness.
He was born August 17, 1919 in Moberly, Missouri to Cecil and Elberta Embree Walters. Married Maxine Olsen in Cimaron, Kansas, July 11, 1946, and made their home in Carbon County.He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a POW survivor of the Bataan Death March. He was also a member of the VFW and UMWA Local 8003.
He is survived by his children and their spouses: Terry L. and Anita Frederickson, Gina and Jack Manchester, of East Carbon; Kimberly and John H. Bird, of Price; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; brother, Delbert Walters, of Moberly, Missouri. Preceded in death by his wife and brother, William Walters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 28, 1994, 1 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Fausett Mortuary will remain open Tuesday until 9 p.m. for friends and family to sign the register. Burial will be held in the Price City Cemetery.
