As a prelude to Home Depot opening another outlet, this one at 328 W. 2100 South, the company is running some full-page newspaper ads with a headline that reads, "If your new year's resolution is saving money, finding the best selection of home improvement products and getting great knowledgeable service - you've got it."
Starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, the new store will be opened for an invitation-only party that will include a sawing race between Salt Lake Mayor Deedee Corradini and South Salt Lake Mayor Randy Fitts. A $5,000 check will be presented by Home Depot to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Salt Lake.The store will open to the public on Thursday. Hours will be 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. There are 150 employees in the new store to provide service.
