Edith Child Myers, age 88, died March 3, 1994 at Stewart's Cedar Crest Care Center in Roosevelt where she had received wonderful care and affection.

She was born November 8, 1905 in Lehi, Utah to George Newport and Florence Willes Child. She married Kenneth John Myers April 17, 1927 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died April 26, 1987.Edith's mother died when she was two weeks old, the youngest of six children. She was raised by her mother's sister, Achsah, of the Janus Schow family in Lehi. At age 16, she went to Salt Lake City to live with her father and family, and later graduated from East High School. She went on to the University of Utah where she was affiliated with Alpha Chi Sorority and was also a member of the U of U debate team. She taught in Salt Lake schools for several years. In 1934, Edith and Kenneth moved to a Uintah Basin ranch near Ft. Duchesne, their permanent home.

She is survived by longtime devoted friends, LaRue and Jessie Pickup, Randlett, Utah; brother-in-law, Garth G. Myers, Salt Lake; sisters-in-law, LaPriel M. Poulson, Salt Lake; and Helen M. Baxter, Logan. She was preceded in death by an infant son, three brothers and three sisters.

She was a noble and great lady and will be greatly missed by her neighbors and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 5th, at the American Fork Cemetery, conducted by Bishop Verden Heaton, Ballard LDS Ward. Funeral directors, Hullinger-Olpin Mortuary, Roosevelt.
