The federal Department of Education Civil Rights Office has closed its Title IX investigation of Weber State.
It said that while the school has not yet achieved proportionality between men's and women's sports, it is making sufficient progress.Weber President Paul Thompson promised to increase salaries for coaches of women's teams, equalize budgets for men's and women's sports and expand or add women's sports.
Actions already taken include adding women's varsity golf, increasing women's athletic funding by $20,000 and cutting $90,000 from men's athletics.
