Weber State junior Bill Schuffenhaur has won his third Big Sky Conference decathlon title. Northern Arizona sophomore Anna Wiklund grabbed the heptathlon title.

Schuffenhaur scored 7,383 points to outdistance Idaho's Pat McFadden, with 7,141 points in the competition that ended Thursday. Boise State's Brian Davidson was third with 6,900.Schuffenhaur became the first three-time winner in conference history, but his bid for the meet record of 7,543 points - set by Steve Fink of Idaho State in 1982 - was waylaid by a sore elbow.

Schuffenhaur, who had the longest javelin mark in the Big Sky this year at 222 feet, 7 inches, had to throw with his left hand Thursday and could manage only 124 feet.

Schuffenhaur's best decathlon mark of 7,570, set in a meet in Arizona in March, ranks third in NCAA Division I and should easily qualify him for the NCAA Championships in Boise, Idaho, June 1-4.
