Jeremy Brooks, a British novelist and playwright, died June 27 at his home in Llanfrothen, Wales. He was 67.

Brooks wrote the well-received novel "Jampot Smith" and other fiction in the 1960s. He was the literary manager of the Royal Shakespeare Company from 1962-69.His fiction included a 1986 volume of short stories,"Doing the Voices," (Viking Penguin) and scripts for stage, television, radio and film.
