Cougs' Ulufale returns, will play this Saturday

PROVO - Brigham Young defensive tackle Mike Ulufale, who walked out during Saturday's 34-17 loss to Utah, has returned to the team and will play in the Cougars' last game of the regular season Saturday at Fresno State.

"Mike Ulufale will make the trip. He will dress. He will play," coach Lavell Edwards said Tuesday in a statement. He declined further comment, as did Ulufale.

The 6-foot-5 senior was suspended for four games last month because of violations of the school's Honor Code. He returned for the Nov. 4 game against Tulsa. He apparently was upset about not starting against Utah and left the field after a first-quarter sideline dispute.

Steele, a 6-2 middle blocker, leads BYU and the WAC in blocks per game (1.61). She is also ranked ninth nationally in blocks per game. Steele is also BYU's top hitter (.296 hitting percentage, 4.11 kills per game) both these stats put her in the top five in the WAC in those categories.

Prep hoops start today

Are you ready for some hoops? The high school basketball season begins today as teams begin the quest for state honors.

A handful of games are scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend with teams from all classifications participating. The 1A girls began play several weeks ago (because of an early state tournament date), while the rest of the teams (boys and girls) waited until today.
