Stone Roses guitarist John Squire broke his collarbone and shoulder in a mountain biking accident that will interrupt the English rock band's tour.

Squire hurtled down Mount Tamalpais, a popular biking destination across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco, on Friday. It was the Stone Roses' first day off after an 11-show introductory tour of the United States and Canada. The band's next stops were to be Japan and then England.

Legal troubles with their former record label delayed the release of the band's second album, "Second Coming," for five years.
