Among other hits, American composer Vernon Duke (1903-1969) wrote the song "April in Paris."

Inspired by this song, a friend of his spent some weeks in Paris one April, but the weather was terrible. On his return, the friend complained to Vernon Duke about his trip.

"Whatever made you go to Paris in April?" asked Duke, who had lived there in 1924. "The weather's always disastrous then."

His friend was astonished. "I went because of your song," he said.
