Peter Freed, president of the Lagoon Corp., has been honored by members of the 1996 Utah Heritage Foundation Board of Trustees for his strong efforts in historical preservation.

He was presented with the Board of Trustees' 10th Anniversary Award for his achievements in collecting artifacts and incorporating them into various aspects of his family's Farmington amusement park.Lagoon has two rides of heritage caliber - its wooden roller coaster that started operation in 1921 and its carousel that was built in 1893 and opened at the park in 1906.

Pioneer Village, a look into the late 1800s, is another popular feature at Lagoon. It contains numerous artifacts and antiques the public can enjoy.
