Costantino Rocca of Italy fought off one of Nick Faldo's famous final-round charges with a 69 Monday and won the $1.5 million Volvo PGA by two strokes.

Faldo, who overwhelmed Greg Norman on the final round at Augusta to sweep to his third Masters title, made up three strokes on Rocca by the 15th.But, Faldo was unable to get birdies at 17 and 18, both par 5s. Rocca, maintaining his poise and making no mistakes, birdied the 17th and headed for the final hole one stroke in front.

He pitched his third shot on the 18th to within 12 feet. Then, he curled in a birdie putt to finish the tournament at 274, 14-under par, for his first victory in three years.

Faldo finished with a 68 to tie for second place with Scotland's Paul Lawrie, who had a 70.
