A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, for Stanley B. Mulaik and his wife, Dorothea, co-founders of the Utah Nature Study Society.

The service for Dorothea D. Mulaik, 96, a biologist, and her husband, who was professor emeritus of biology at the University of Utah, will be held at Cottam Gulch on the U. campus. She died June 9 of pneumonia in Decatur, Ga., and Stanley Mulaik, 92, died March 17, 1995, in Stone Mountain, Ga., of kidney failure and cancer. The couple had lived near their children in Georgia since 1992.

The Mulaiks were beloved by thousands of members of the nature study society and members of Wildlife Federation Summits throughout the country. Many of the members were children who followed the couple on their hands and knees with a magnifying glass.

The nature "creeps," which took place within a 10-foot radius in any given canyon or mountain meadow, held children and adults spellbound as the Mulaiks showed them the wonders of nature in the smallest bug or leaf and their interdependence.
