A boating accident near Wahweap Marina on Lake Powell Sunday has claimed the lives of two boaters from Arizona. A third man was not seriously injured in the accident.

Killed were:Daryl Davidson, 53, Flagstaff, Ariz.

Two passengers, Golightly and Cary Stoneberger, 32, Flagstaff, Ariz., were aboard the boat at the time of the accident. Upon impact with the buoy, Stoneberger was thrown out of the boat as it tipped over, trapping Davidson and Golightly, said Char Obergh with the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.

Stoneberger and Davidson, who had been under water for several minutes, were pulled to shore by personnel at the marina, but Golightly was not found. Emergency personnel responding to the scene tried to revive the unconscious Davidson, but he died on arrival at Page Hospital in Page, Ariz.

Obergh said an immediate search for Golightly began, and at first light Sunday, the search continued with dive teams from several area agencies.

Her body was recovered late Sunday night just before 10:30 p.m. and positively identified, Obergh said Monday.
