Laverne M. Nelson returned to her Father-in-Heaven June 30, 1996.
She was born in Baldwin, Kansas, March 15, 1920, a daughter of Elton M. and Alta Ackerman Evans. She married Evan Nelson Nov. 22, 1985.She was an artist, newspaper editor and homemaker. Her great loves were her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Evan, Mt. Pleasant, Utah; daughter, Carol (William) Koran, West Lynn, Oregon; son, Evan R. (Joanne) Carruthers, So. Bend, Indiana; stepson, Jack (Shari) Elsbury, Henderson, Nevada; stepdaughter, Carol Saracino, Roy, Utah; brother, Robert L. Evans, and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be July 5, 1996, 1:30 p.m., United Methodist Church, 285 North 2nd, Hotchkiss, Colo. Viewing will be 1 p.m. prior to services at the church. Burial: Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Ursenbach Funeral Home.
