Frances Terry Rowley, age 78, passed peacefully from this world at the home of a daughter in Orem, Utah on August 12, 1996.

She was born on September 10, 1917 in Orem, Utah to Kate Burch and Joseph Alphonzo Terry. She married Lorin Hans Rowley in the Salt Lake Temple on September 1, 1937. He died March 2, 1981. Frances spent her childhood homesteading in McKinnon, Wyoming. She later graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She and her husband spent much of their life together in Provo and West Valley City, Utah. She worked for many years at O.C. Tanner Jewelers in Salt Lake City, Utah. Frances was devoted to her family and to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many leadership positions in Church auxiliaries throughout her life, completed a full-time proselyting mission in Missouri at age 72, and later worked in the Provo Temple.She is survived by her six daughters: Marilyn (and Bryce) Jackman of Orem, Utah, recently of Denver, Colorado; Janice (and Robert) Parkin of Midvale, Utah; Annette (and Dee) McMillan of Roy, Utah; Anita (and Lyman) Fisher of Vacaville, California; Kathleen (and Clark) Smith of Kaysville, Utah; and Geniel (and Larry) Childs of Provo, Utah; a sister and three brothers: Alene (and Arden) Rowley of Orem, Utah; George (and Gerry) Terry of Spanish Fork, Utah; Hilton (and Sharlene) Terry of Provo, Utah; and Glade (and Kairle) Terry of Provo, Utah; 31 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one grandchild, and one sister and one brother: Norma Cluff and Frank Terry.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 17 at 11 a.m. in the LDS Slate Canyon Chapel at 1498 East 800 South, in Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 S. State, Orem, Utah on Friday, 6 to 8 p.m. or from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the Slate Chapel. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
