John Hamilton Bryan, 65, died Monday, August 19, 1996 in Brigham City after a short fight with leukemia.

He was born September 14, 1930 in Nephi, Utah, the son of Bent R. and Lela V. Bryan. He married LaVell Wankier on September 8, 1954.John spent many years in the service of others as a member of the US Army and the Utah Highway Patrol. He was well respected by the many members of the law enforcement community. He was also loved as a husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

He is survived by his wife, LaVell, Brigham City; his four children, Kara (Gary) Allred, Mt. View, Wyo.; Barbara (Kevin) Dallon, and John K. (Elana) Bryan, Brigham City; and Chad W. Bryan, Pierre, South Dakota. He is also survived by his brothers, William Newell (Gwen) Bryan, Salt Lake City; and Bruce Bryan, Denver, Colo; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 23, 1996, 11 a.m., at the Brigham City 24th LDS Ward Chapel, 650 Anderson Drive. Friends may call Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at Olsen-Myers Mortuary, 205 So. 100 East, Brigham City, Utah, and at the church Friday 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
