Pollstar, a major music-industry trade magazine that tracks concert tours, reports that rock group Kiss' reunion tour was the biggest concert trek of 1996. Kiss sold 1.2 million tickets, grossing $43.6 million in North America.

Country star Garth Brooks came in second, with $34.5 million in ticket sales. But Brooks, whose tickets were about 50 percent cheaper than those for Kiss, actually played to more people than any other musical act in 1996; Brooks sold 1.9 million tickets.
