Bobby Ross has been a winner everywhere he has been. Detroit fans hope that trend continues.
Ross, who resigned as the San Diego Chargers' coach Jan. 3, becomes the 19th coach of the Lions today. He replaces Wayne Fontes, who was fired last month.Sources told The Associated Press that Ross will sign a five-year contract worth $7.5 million. The deal was to be announced during a news conference at the Silverdome.
The Lions have refused to comment on offers or candidates during their search.
