A 37-foot statue of Buddha is part of Chuang-Yen Monastery's $6 million Great Buddha Hall in Carmel, N.Y. More than 5,000 people attended the hall's formal dedication Saturday by the Dalai Lama, Tibet's exiled spiritual leader. The statue is the second-largest indoor Buddha in the world.
