James Thomas Dykes passed away on his 41st birthday, June 22, 1997 after a long struggle with diabetes.

Born June 22, 1956 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Bill and Maxine Jenkins Dykes. Attended Highland High School. Married Diane Lefler, December 4th, 1975; later divorced. Jim worked most of his life at Ace Auto Supply with his brothers and father. Jim always had a smile for everyone he met and loved fishing, golfing, and bowling. He was a devoted father and grandfather. We will miss his sweet and gentle spirit.Survived by two children, Stephanie (Todd) Straup, and Jeremy Dykes; one grandson, Preston Straup; parents, Bill and Maxine Dykes; sisters and brothers, Karen (Ray) Evans; JoAnn (Curt) Clark; Marilyn (Michael) McBride; Judy (Bryan) Johnson; Barbara (Rob) Jackson; Glen (Meri) Dykes; Wayne Dykes; Sherrill (Bud) Blanchard; loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services Saturday, June 28, 1997, 2 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 So. Redwood Rd, where friends may call Friday, 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, one hour prior to services.
