Former University of Montana forward Greta Koss has moved up from the developmental squad to the active roster of the Utah Starzz of the WNBA.

Koss played about three minutes Saturday night and did not score any points in the Starzz' 77-66 loss to the Cleveland Rockers."It's kind of weird getting back into the flow of competing again," Koss said.

She's moved up to the active roster for 10 days while another player was put on injured reserve. They had to pay her a little extra, too.

Koss said the competition is more intense than at the college level.

"Just total athleticism across the board. Just smart players," she said. "Once you get used to it, it isn't as intimidating as you would think when you hear `pro."'

The Starzz play in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

"I guess I'll see what life on the road in the pros is like at least for one trip," Koss said in a telephone interview.

Koss, of Malta, was the Big Sky Conference MVP during the 1995-96 season and was the league's tournament MVP during her senior year.

She said she likes living in Salt Lake.

"It's a good big city for me to be in, because it's not like an L.A. or a New York City. It's got a small town feel. I feel pretty comfortable here," she said.
