Karin Anna Lisa Hedstrom of Granville, Ohio, passed away July 3 in Murray, Utah, after a long battle with cancer.
Born August 8, 1908 in Goteborg, Sweden, the daughter of John Kallgren and Alva Orrvik, she gained citizenship in the United States on August 29, 1935. She married John Harold Hedstrom on August 14, 1931. He preceded her in death in 1968.Karin was a tennis player for which she received numerous awards and trophies. She also devoted much of her life to helping others by using her skills in massage therapy. Her hobbies included skiing and investing. Her talent for investing enabled her to manage her own retirement. She was considered the "family financial expert" and was frequently asked by family members for investment advice.
She is survived by two daughters, Mariann and Tony Lisska of Granville, Ohio; Kerstin and Conrad Kramer of Muskegon, Michigan; two granddaughters, Megan and Elin Lisska of Granville, Ohio; five grandsons, Mark and Michelle Kramer, Taylorsville, Utah; Steven and Susan Kramer of Dielsdorf, Switzerland; David and Annette Kramer of Herriman, Utah; Scott and Kristi Kramer of Duncan, Oklahoma; and Michael Kramer of Muskegon, Michigan; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Private services were held by the family. Cremation will take place at Broomhead Mortuary in Riverton, Utah.
