Charlie Chaplin and Ludwig Von Beethoven: two great tastes that go great together.

The Park City International Music Festival will present two screenings of Charlie Chaplin's classic "The Gold Rush": Friday, Aug. 1, at the James Santy Auditorium in Park City (1255 Park Ave.), and Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Tower Theater in Salt Lake City (876 E. 900 South). Both screenings will include accompaniment by musicians Robert Moeling (piano), Laura Bossert (violin), Terry King (cello), Russell Harlow (clarinet) and Leslie Blackburn-Harlow (violin). The quintet will perform selected compositions by Beethoven during the silent film.

"(The music and movie) fit together so well you would think these two creative geniuses had been the very best of friends," said Anna Painter, assistant to the director for the festival.

In addition to the screening, there will also be a pre-concert reception before the Park City performance starting at 6:15 p.m. at the 350 Main Oyster and Seafood Company.

Tickets for the concert and reception in Park City are $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors and are available from Dolly's Bookstore, A Woman's Place Bookstore, Summit Books, Blue Roof Market, Old Town Market and Deli and Dan's Foods.
