On August 2, 1997, my sweet companion of 69 years, joined me again. It has been just about a year since I went on ahead to prepare the way. We were blessed to be sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on Sept. 5, 1928.

My dear Vida was born to Israel and Kate Anderson on January 31, 1905. She was one of eight children and has been preceded by all but two of her family, Vola (Trulen) Bills and Rinda (W.B.) Robins. We were blessed with three children, Paul Anderson (Dorothy) Freebairn, Marietta, Georgia, Jacye VerLynne (Dale) Pearson, Provo, Utah, and Dwayne (Doralee) Freebairn, Salt Lake City, Utah. Through these children we have 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Vida has remained true and faithful to the Lord all her life and through many callings in the Church, (Relief Society, Primary, Sunday School, and as a Temple worker), she has touched the lives of countless children of our Father-In-Heaven. She was also gifted to be able to express herself in writing and poetry and used this gift to bring happiness and comfort to many.

This past year has been a very difficult year for Vida, but I am grateful for Premier Home Health and especially her nurse Maureen Petersen for their assistance. Most of all, I am grateful to my daughter VerLynne and her husband, Dale for taking Vida into their home and caring for all her needs until she rejoined me. I love them for their great sacrifice and the love they have for both of us.

On Monday, August 11, I would invite you to join in honoring this great woman. Services will be held at the Parleys 3rd Ward Chapel, 2615 East Stringham Ave, Salt Lake City, Utah at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. prior to the service. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, Murray, Utah. Vida will be interred in the Holladay Memorial Park.
