The Detroit Lions have reached a contract agreement with first-round draft pick Bryant Westbrook, Lions executive vice president Chuck Schmidt said Friday.
Schmidt did not disclose terms of the contract. Broadcast reports indicate it is a five-year deal with an option for a sixth and a total package of $17 million.Westbrook was en route to the Pontiac Silverdome for the Lions' exhibition game Friday night against the Cincinnati Bengals. Schmidt said Westbrook is expected to sign in time for Saturday afternoon's practice.
"We've got an agreement in principle and maybe some details to work out yet," Schmidt said.
