Two new appointments at Deseret Management Corp. were named Monday by Rodney H. Brady, president and chief executive officer.
Deseret Management is the holding company for commercial businesses owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Gary Harshberger has been named assistant controller, responsible for consolidation accounting and reporting, and analytical reviews of subsidiary financial statements.
Michael T. Gregory has been appointed assistant treasurer responsible for cash management, payroll and income tax compliance.
Harshberger has served for the past 10 years as assistant treasurer and previously was audit manager for 12 years at Deseret Management. Prior to that he was with John F. Forbes and Co., certified public accountants. He is a CPA and holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Brigham Young University.
Gregory has served for the past two years as accounting manager and previously was audit senior for six years at Deseret Management. Prior to joining Deseret Management, he was with accounting firm Ernst & Young. He is a CPA, CFE, and holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Utah.
