ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- A Michigan defensive back, indefinitely suspended from the team, has been charged with misdemeanor larceny after a stripper said money was taken from her purse in a campus dorm.

William Peterson was charged Wednesday after the stripper told police the theft took place Dec. 3 while she performed in the dorm, the Detroit Free Press reported today.On Tuesday, coach Lloyd Carr said Peterson -- a cornerback who started one game this season -- has been suspended indefinitely and would not play in the Citrus Bowl. Carr did not discuss the reasons for the action, saying he would speak to that later.
