6th victim dies from injuries caused by grain-dust blast

A sixth man has died from injuries suffered in the massive explosion at a south-central Kansas grain elevator.

Lanny Owen, 43, of Wichita, died Friday at a hospital after suffering second- and third-degree burns in the explosion at the DeBruce Grain elevator in Hays-ville, southwest of Wichita.Owen was one of 11 people injured in the June 8 blast, which was blamed on highly combustible grain dust.
