Born December 15, 1912 in West Jordan, Utah a daughter of Rosa Bushnell and John Harris Greer. Kate lived most of her life in Union, Utah. At age eighteen she became a teacher and a few years later, principal at Lark Elementary School, in Lark, Utah. She married Glen L. Henson and enjoyed a long and companionable marriage until h is death in 1996. she loved being in the company of her children and grandchildren. She had a close enduring relationship with her three sisters and a great appreciation for the experience of growing up n a large and loveing extended family. Kate enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling and playing bridge. In December, 1996 she had a bebilitating stroke which took these joys and pleasures from her. Since that time, her life has been dominated by the struggle of dealing with her handicaps. Throughout this struggle she nevertheless ratained her incisive wit and her expansive concern for the welfare of others. She yearned for a world where no child goes to bed hungry, a world whee, as Garrison Keilor says of Lake Woebegone, "the women are strong, the men are good-looking and all the children are above-average."
Survived by her children and their mates; Lyn and Russ Taylor, Charlee and Wayne Thompson, Rocky and Valerie Henson; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Kaysie.
We, her children and all who love Kate, would like to thank the staff at Highland Care Center for the loving care and companionship she received during her stay there.
