Norman Hale, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 1998.

He was born June 16, 1913, in Afton, Wyoming to William and Ella Hale. He married Blanche Petersen on June 24, 1935, in the Salt Lake Temple and was with his sweetheart for 63 years. Together they fulfilled an LDS mission to Sacramento, CA, as well as serving 16 years in the Jordan River Temple. He held many Ward and Stake positions, all of which he loved dearly.He worked for 45 years at Kennecott Copper Mine in addition to maintaining a chicken ranch and farm.

Norm enjoyed many interest but none greater than supporting his family in their sports and other activities. He delighted everyone with his quick wit, stories, and poems.

He is survived by his wife, Blanche, and children, Gary (Kathy) Hale, Tooele, UT; Norma Lynn (Riley) O'Neil, Sandy, UT; Cleve Hale, Geronimo, OK; Hal Hale, Midvale, UT; Julene (Drew) Cutler, Redlands, CA; 17 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister and brother, Verlene Yancy and Ellis Hale. Preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Norma (twin), Carol, Elfonda, Wilma, and brothers, Lloyd, Stan, Nathan.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 14, 2 p.m. at the Midvale 1st Ward, 465 6th Avenue, Midvale, UT (five blocks west of State St. on 7500 So.). Friends and family may call for a viewing 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening at Lake Hills Mortuary, 10055 So. State St., Sandy, UT, or one hour prior to services on Monday.
