KINGS SIGN CORBIN: The Sacramento Kings signed free-agent forward Tyrone Corbin to a contract, the team said.

It will be the second stint with Sacramento for the 36-year-old Corbin. He played 49 games with the Kings in 1995-96 before being traded to Miami.Corbin, 6-foot-6, spent the past three seasons with the Atlanta Hawks. He averaged 7.5 points and 3.1 rebounds in 47 games last season.

A 14-year veteran, Corbin has averaged 9.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists for San Antonio, Cleveland, Phoenix, Minnesota, Utah, Atlanta, Sacramento and Miami.

Terms of the contract weren't disclosed.

MAGIC WAIVE GRANT: The Orlando Magic put veteran forward Harvey Grant on waivers, the team said.

Grant, 34, was acquired with Anthony Parker from the Philadelphia 76ers for Billy Owens on Aug. 13. He appeared in 47 games with Philadelphia last season, averaging 3.1 points and 2.3 rebounds.

The 6-foot-9 Grant has averaged 9.9 points and 4.4 rebounds in 783 career games with Washington, Portland and Philadelphia in his 11 NBA seasons. He was originally taken by Washington with the 12th overall pick in the 1988 draft.

LAWSUIT DELAYS SPREWELL: Latrell Sprewell, the Knicks' breakneck shooting guard, testified in a California courtroom on Wednesday to driving 90 mph while weaving in and out of traffic on a Bay Area freeway 19 months ago.

Sprewell says he changed lanes between five and 15 times and managed to pass every car he came upon during the 10-mile drive that ended in a two-car crash.

Sprewell then told jurors he believed he was operating his Mercedes-Benz in a safe and cautious manner.
