FARMINGTON--Christian Glenn Packer was born February 26, 1976 to Gary Lowell Packer and Paula Pearson Packer in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was raised on a small family farm and attended elementary school in Honeyville, Utah. He loved his childhood friends and the farm animals.
He lived with his family in Germany for 3 years, attending German schools and working part time at the PX Burger King in Frankfurt. The last five years, he has lived with the family in Centerville and Farmington, where he graduated from Viewmont High School.Christian was intellectually handicapped due to Cerebral Palsy from a difficult instrument birth, but far exceeded the anticipated physical and mental growth.
His death on October 5, 1999 is a result of an auto-pedestrian accident on October 1, 1999 near his home as he was waiting for a bus that took him daily to his welfare mission for the LDS Church at Welfare Square these last 15 months.
Elder Packer will be missed by his surviving parents; grandmother, Ardith Hunsaker Pearson; siblings, Thomas, Kathryn, Laura and Mark; and his many extended family members, associates and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 8, 1999, at 10 a.m. at the Compton Bench LDS Chapel, 900 Compton Road, Farmington, Utah. Friends may call at the Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah on Thursday, October 7, from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday at the Church from 9-9:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery. Arrangements by Myers Mortuary of Brigham City.
