Wanda Henrie Parkin Jorgensen, age 71, passed away, Monday, February 8, 1999 of pneumonia, in Mesa, Arizona.
She was born September 6, 1927 in Bountiful, Utah. She was the eldest child of Arvilla A. Burnham and William D. Henrie. She married Herbert C. Parkin on April 30, 1948 in Bountiful, Utah. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died August 12, 1983. Married Ray D. Jorgensen October 23, 1986. She spent her early years in Teton Valley, Idaho on the west slopes of the Teton Peaks. In 1944 the family moved to West Bountiful, Utah. She graduated from Davis High School in 1945. She was active in the LDS Church and served in Relief Society, Primary and MIA positions. She worked at Hill Field and for the U.S. Forest Service and retired in 1979. She was a member and past president of the Bountiful Lady Lions Club and was also a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Her hobbies were her family and friends, reading, cooking, traveling, gardening, serving others, and she enjoyed spending her winters in Mesa, Arizona.She is survived by her husband, Ray; children, Shelley (Richard) Nielsen, Murray; Ren H. (Sharon) Parkin, Bountiful; step children, Lynn (Cheryl) Jorgensen, Orem; Dr. Russell (Vicki) Jorgensen, Mesa, AZ; LuAnn (Val) Morton, Farmington; Dale (Michelle) Jorgensen, Aloha, OR; three grandchildren and 13 step-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Winona Johnson and Donna Rae Parkin; two brothers, Adelbert Henrie and James B. Henrie.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 13, 1999 at the Bountiful 5th Ward Chapel, 990 North Chapel Drive. Friends and family may call Friday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and again Saturday morning from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
