Our loving father, husband, grandpa, brother, and hero passed away February 14, 1999 surrounded in love by his family.
Born on October 2, 1918 to Oscar B. and Ivie Davis Evans. He was a man of great adventure and many talents. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and bird study. A man blessed with incredible talents, he was a member of the 1960 International Champion Barbershop Quartet, "Evans Quartet" and he also was a renowned wildlife artist. He also enjoyed his many years working at the Primary Childrens Hospital. The greatest accomplishment of his life was marrying his sweetheart, Berniece Hottinger Unsworth on Nov. 9, 1944 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had four devoted sons and a beautiful daughter, Drake Evans, Salt Lake City; Bradd Evans, Bountiful; Layne S. (Roxanne) Evans, Jackson, Wyoming; Kelly J. (Susan) Evans, Rexburg, ID); Eileen (Rich) Humphreys, West Bountiful. Blessed with eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.He is survived by his wife and children and two brothers, Preston D. Evans and George D. Evans. Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clarence D. Evans and Jonathon (Jack) Evans.
Funeral services will be held Weds., February 17, 1999 at 1 p.m. in the Bountiful Oak Hills Chapel, 500 So. 1200 E. Friends may call Tues. evening, Feb. 16, 1999 from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Bros. Bountiful Mortuary, 295 No. Main, or one hour prior to the funeral service on Feb. 17. Interment will be in the Bountiful Cemetery.
