Sept. 11, 1928: Bees seize 4 out of 5 Title Games. The Salt Lake Bees crowned themselves champions of the Utah-Idaho League Monday by defeating the Boise Senators 10 to 2 in a game that had little of championship character, except the name. It was Salt Lake's first championship in upward to 30 years in organized baseball in Pacific National Union Association, Coast League and U-I loops.The hometown boys came home from Idaho proud at the end of the 1928 season, and pictures of the heros ran for some time in the News, which by then was printing regular daily sports pages.
