FREMONT, Utah--Ronald G. "Ronnie" Blackburn, age 55, passed away Sunday, March 28, 1999 in Fremont, Utah.
He was born February 27, 1944 in Salina, Utah, a son of Lewis G. and Donna Albrecht Blackburn. He married Kathy Rees May 28, 1977 in Bicknell, Utah. He served six years in the Utah National Guard. Ronnie was a farmer and a rancher. He drove a school bus. He had been a truck driver for Conoco, Van Gas and Chappell Cheese. Ronnie was an active member of the L.D.S. Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, horse riding, but most of all, he liked spending time with his family. Ronnie (Grandpa Fremont) was loved greatly by all his family and a great number of friends. He had a special relationship with all his grandchildren and loved to spend time with them.He is survived by his wife, Kathy; children: Kristi and Jeff Pikyavit; Darrin and Athena Morrell; Rick and Michele Morrell; Ken Blackburn and Trena Blackburn; grandchildren: Skyler, Braydon, Dakota, Kaden, Keenan, Blake, Darick and Briley; parents, Lewis and Donna Blackburn; brothers and sisters: Scott and Dixie Blackburn; Rick and Paula Roberts; Terry and Erlene Curtis; Steve and Lesa Rasmussen; Ron and Tammy Perkins; parents-in-law: Ken and Loyia Rees.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 31, 1999 at 1 p.m.in the Loa L.D.S. Stake Tabernacle. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church in Loa, Wednesday from 11 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Fremont Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
