On March 29, 1999, at the home of her daughter, "Our Inspiration" returned home to her Heavenly Father and into the arms of her loving husband and son.Gladys was born March 6, 1910 in Spanish Fork, the daughter of David J. and Annie Birch Bona. Raised and educated in Payson. Married Arnold J. Smith Aug. 1, 1928. Sealed in the Provo Temple Sept. 8, 1983. A gifted artist and poet she contributed her talents in writing numerous tributes and composing programs for church and community. Always a good neighbor sharing in other's sorrow and happiness. She loved all children. Named Payson's Jaycees Auxiliary "Outstanding Woman of The Year for 1978". An active member of the LDS Church she served in numerous positions, her favorites being Primary teacher, stake Laurel leader, and visiting teacher.

A loving Mother, Grandmother, and Sister, she is survived by daughter, JoAnn (Maurice "Ed") Anderson, Sandy; son, Glenn Bona (Kathy) Smith, Pleasant Grove,; daughter-in-law, June Smith, Spring Lake; sister, Ella McNeil; brother, Ardene Bona, both of West Valley City; 15 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, son A.J. Smith, sisters, Irene Bona, Melva Riffey, brothers, Art Bona, Elias "Jay" Bona.

Services will be Monday, April 5, 1999, 12 noon, in the Mtn. View 6th LDS Ward Chapel, 681 East 500 North, Payson. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Sunday, 6-8 p.m., or at the church Monday, 11-11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork

Cemetery.
