On Saturday, July 24, 1999, the world lost a very special person due to liver failure. Brad's time on earth was short but he made every day special for those who knew and loved him.
Brad was born on March 25, 1960, to Beverly Jones Hansen and Keith Boyd "Hot Rod" Hansen in Salt Lake City. Attended Cottonwood High School and the University of Utah. Married his best friend and soul mate Patti Madsen on September 10, 1983. Together they produced two wonderful sons, Brady and Connor, in the very image of their dad. Brad was very successful in the home mortgage industry, accomplishing his dream of owning his company Hansen Financial. Together, with Patti, they were living their dream life of working for themselves. Brad loved his friends and family. The room came alive when he entered with his laughter and numerous stories. He was blessed with the gift of gab and was fascinated with meeting new friends wherever he went. His motto in life was to be the best husband, father, and friend. He surpassed this goal as attested to everyone who was blessed to know him. Brad adored his wife and two boys, as they did him. Together they enjoyed their love of Island Park and mastering the art of fly fishing, laboring in their "country club beautiful" yard, teeing it up, checking out "cool" cars and going on adventures. He loved his association with the Summer Jobs Committee for the U of U football program and watching the team play with his family and buddies in the new stadium and around the country.Survived by his best friend and wife, Patti; sons, Brady B. (12), and Connor Brook (3); mother, Beverly J. Hansen; sister, Heidi "Dweeb" Hansen (Portland). He is also survived by his extended family and the meaningful friends he cherished. Preceded in death by his father, "Hot Rod" Hansen, whom welcomed him to heaven with open arms along with his father in law, Viggo "Bob" Madsen.
We are grateful that we had the opportunity to know such a wonderful and loving man. May God watch over his family. The family would like to thank the numerous family members and friends for all their love and unrelentless support during this difficult time.
Services will be held on Friday, July 30th, 11 a.m., Larkin Sunset Gardens Chapel, 10600 South 1700 East, casual attire requested. Friends and family may call beginning at 9:30 a.m. A celebration of Brad's life will be held following the services at the Hansen's home.
