DESERET NEWS, April 24, 1974: OGDEN -- Two airmen were arrested Tuesday night at a Hill Air Force Base barracks in connection with the brutal killings of three persons during the Monday robbery of an Ogden music store.

Taken into custody without resistance about 10 p.m. were Dale S. Pierre, 21, Brooklyn, N.Y., and William A. Andrews, 19, Dallas, Tex., Both men are helicopter mechanics and have been at Hill AFB between six and eight months. The victims are: Stanley O. Walker, 20, acting manager of the store; Sherry Michelle Ansley, an employee, who was nude and had been raped and was dead at the scene; Mrs. Byron Naisbitt, 52, the mother of another store employee.

The arrest of Andrews and Pierre (he later changed his last name to Selby) launched the longest trail to execution in Utah history. After dozens of court maneuvers and appeals, Selby was executed Aug. 28, 1987, and Andrews almost five years later on July 30, 1992.
