SALT LAKE CITY--Joseph Louis Moffitt, 19, died September 12, 1999 at the University of Utah Medical Center.
He was born January 30, 1980 in Phoenix, Arizona, a son of Lou and Carol Moffitt. Graduating from Granger High School, he was called to the Massachusetts Boston Mission of the LDS Church, entering the MTC on May 12, 1999. Due to complications of rejection to his transplanted heart, he received a transfer to another mission.Surviving are his parents, Lou and Carol; three sisters: Christina Mayes, Mesa, Arizona; Julie Moffitt and Diana Moffitt, both of Pocatello, Idaho. Preceding him in death was his grandmother, Verna Moffitt, to whom he was very close.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, September 16, 1999 in the Mantua Cemetery. Memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., September 22, 1999 at the LDS Church in Grangerville, ID.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Missionary Fund of the LDS Church.
