John E Straub, 71, of Sarasota, FL died September 19, 1999.
He was born November 10, 1927 in New York City and moved to Sarasota five years ago from Salt Lake City. He retired in 199 as manager of the Salt Lake Country Club. He was a member of the Club Managers Association of America and was past president and treasurer of the Salt Lake Chapter. He served as an electrician's mate in the Navy during World War II.Survivors include his wife, Nancy; two daughters Monica J. Straub of Sarasota; Gail Calder of Charlotte, NC; sons, Michael Straub and Mark Straub both of Salt Lake City; Peter Dawson of Depew, NY; Mark Dawson of Nantucket, MA; sister, Helen Umbach of Peekskill, NY; also survived by 17 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 22, at 2:30 at Palms Funeral Home, 170 Honore Ave. Sarasota, FL.
