Johnny Quong, age 75, died on Sept. 19, 1999 at the Washoe Medical Center in Reno, NV.
Johnny was born on Oct. 10, 1923 in Canton, China. He was a former resident of Salt Lake City, UT having lived the last four years in Dayton, NV. Owner of King Quong Restaurant in Salt Lake City, Utah, as well as The Hawaiian, Papa Quongs Pier 54, and the Beachboy Restaurants, all in Salt Lake City, Utah. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as an aircraft mechanic with the "Flying Tigers." He enjoyed cooking and his grandchildren.He was an avid B.Y.U. football fan.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Yim Quong, Dayton, Nevada; daughters, Becky Greer of Dayton, NV; and Kim Cockrell of Salt Lake; sons, Alvin Quong and Calvin Quong, both of Salt Lake City, Utah; two brothers; one sister; 12 grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 23 1999 at 1:30 p.m. at FitzHenry's Funeral Home in Carson City, Nevada.
