Bailey John Santistevan, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away Jan. 7, 2000 in Murrieta, CA at age 71.
He was born June 30 1928 in Bingham Canyon, Utah to Coach Bailey J. and Edith Mitchell Santistevan. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, Bailey attended Colorado State University where he pitched for the baseball team and played in the College World Series of Baseball. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He graduated with a BS in Entomology. He married Jamie Hancock and moved to the Imperial Valley in California where he founded and was CEO of Crown Chemical company of Holtville for three decades before serving as Southwest regional manager at PureGro in Brawley, California.Bailey was active in the Holtville, California community where he served as President of the Chamber of Commerce, President of the Holtville Rotary Club and Holtville and Imperial County Boards of Education. He was an Elk, 32nd degree Mason, Al Bahr Shriner and Jester. Bailey loved to golf, fish, boat, trap shoot, pilot his plane, and travel.
He is survived by his wife, Jamie; daughter, Holly; sons, Sandy and Dane, all of California; sisters, Nanette Noble, Midvale; and Susan (James W.) Christiansen, Salt Lake City; and seven adored and adoring grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Ricky.
Interment was in El Camino Cemetery in San Diego.
His warm smile, heart of gold, and loving ways will be remembered always.
