Bradly Alan Savage, age 20, of American Fork, Utah, died Friday afternoon, January 28, 2000, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Osceola, Iowa. Elder Savage and three other missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were returning home from a zone conference in Des Moines when the accident occurred. Their mission president described the four elders as "perfect sons." Elder Savage has returned to his Heavenly Father to finish his mission there.

Elder Savage had a strong testimony of our Savior and said he "was the happiest he had ever been" while serving his mission. His mission president said Elder Savage was "very humble, obedient, and a leader" in the mission field.Bradly was born January 8, 1980, in Coalville, Utah, the son of Conrad Alan (Pete) and Keri Johnson Savage. He attended elementary grades in Orem. His family later moved to American Fork where he attended schools in Lehi. He graduated from Lehi High School and Lehi North Stake Seminary in 1998. Bradly was an Eagle Scout. His love and talent for diving led the Lehi Pioneers to the 3A Diving State Championship when Bradly won his third straight individual state title his senior year. In one meet, Bradly won the competition with a front one-and-a-half twist -- his mother's favorite. Later he told her, "That last dive was for you, Mom." His coach, Denis Meyring, said Brad was kind, worked hard, and was a very reliable young man.

Bradly had a big, big heart and expressed his love for his family and friends, as well as those of the animal kingdom. People gravitated to this special young man. Everyone wanted to be his best friend.

Elder Savage is survived by his father and mother of American Fork; three sisters, Kelly Reimschussel, Jennifer Savage, and Katie Savage; one brother, Jeffery Savage; his grandparents, Frank Leroy and Lorene Maag Savage of Springville, and Adrian A. and Carol Scovill Thomas of American Fork. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and two nieces.
