Cherished matriarch, Afton Weaver, 95, died November 28.
She was born in Salt Lake City May 20, 1905 to Elza and Sarah Goodall Pulver. She was an active member of the LDS Church and a life long residence of Cottonwood. Afton's hobbies were well suited to the area. She was a hardy soul who could handle a shovel and wheel barrow. She loved to plant and grow peonies. Her acreage was covered with fruit trees and evergreens that she planted. She was an avid walker who with her only sister, Aileen walked countless miles to Granite High School no matter what the weather.
Afton attended Henegar Business College and became a secretary, but due to the depression, no work was available. She found employment in garment industry and worked as a seamstress for over 40 years. She married Charles Weaver and one daughter, Donna Paswaters was born to them.
Survivors are Donna (Dick), Scott, Gilbert, Shauna, Rosenlof (Bruce) and Sharon Brocking; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to join the family at the MacKay Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Dr. from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1st. Graveside services will be held at the SLC Cemetery Sat, Dec. 2nd. at 12 noon. Interment will be at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
